Ìsépo
[EE-SHEER-POH]
DESCRIPTION
The piece brings together modern minimalism and African heritage. The form draws from architectural vaults and the Makonde stool of Tanzania, known for its sculptural symbolism. The four inward-tapered legs create a tripod-like stance, intersecting in a vaulted structure that suggests both stability and lift.
The stool is delicately suspended by exposed steel pins, giving the impression that it floats above the frame. This contrast—between the grounded base and the lightness above—captures the balance between tradition and innovation, craftsmanship and engineering.
